Rainy Day Brunch

Recently one of my best friends, Stephanie, moved two hours away. It's been pretty lonely without her and our weekly How I Met Your Mother marathon nights! So last weekend when she told me she was planning on visiting, we made plans to meet up at a popular local breakfast joint, The Toasted Mango, for Brunch. I had never been before but had heard tons of good things. I was also so happy to spend some time with Stephanie again, it had really been too long.

Stephanie and her fella David.

True to its name, the Toasted Mango Cafe offers a variety of breakfast and lunch options, most of them featuring their namesake fruit. I decided on the fruit topped waffle with a side of home fries. It was aaahmazing, and I will definitely be going back sometime soon! I want to try everything on the menu!

We had planned on going to the Farmer's Market downtown as well, but since Saturday morning proved to be gray and rainy that wasn't a possibility. I ended up pairing my Madewell high riser skinnys with a simple blouse, and topped it with my cheery red rain trench coat to brighten up the gloomy day. I recently found a vintage hair bonnet on ebay and snapped it up for rainy days (us Florida gals have to battle the rain quite often in the summer), but since it hadn't come in yet I covered my bumper bangs and beehive with a hair scarf to keep it protected.

xoxo, Samantha
